Dear music lovers,
Dear subscribers,

For seven decades now, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra has been presenting the most famous masterpieces by renowned composers at the Berlin Philharmonic under the motto “Classical Music for Everyone,” thereby making an indispensable contribution to the cultural life of our city.

The orchestra originated as a private initiative by Prof. Victor Hohenfels and his wife, Eva-Maria. Over time, this has evolved into a special musical life’s work. We have welcomed more than three and a half million guests from Berlin and around the world since then. Many of you have been with us for years, some even for decades.

Concertgoers became subscribers, and they in turn became friends and long-time companions of our orchestra. This bond has grown across generations—and for that we are deeply grateful.

After all, an orchestra does not live by its music alone. It thrives on the people who listen, return, share their enthusiasm, and place their trust in an ensemble. The fact that the Berlin Symphony Orchestra has been able to continue and further develop its path over the decades is also thanks to your trust and loyalty.

Our history has been shaped by outstanding musicians, distinguished conductors, and renowned soloists. We also share a special connection with numerous members of the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic orchestras, who have enriched our concerts over many years as soloists and conductors. Together with them and with you, we have created musical evenings that have resonated far beyond the concert hall and remain fondly remembered.

Preserving tradition. Shaping the future.

Our history is both a commitment and an inspiration to us. We respectfully preserve what has grown over decades—while remaining open to new ideas.
With renewed energy, great passion, and high artistic standards, we aim to continue writing the history of our orchestra and to continue offering you outstanding concert experiences at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall. The familiar will retain its place. At the same time, we are creating space for new inspiration and musical discoveries.

I sincerely thank you for your loyalty, your trust, and your connection to the Berlin Symphony Orchestra.

I also cordially invite you to experience the 2026/27 season with us. Look forward to great masterpieces, outstanding artists, and memorable musical encounters at the Berlin Philharmonic.

We look forward to seeing you.

With deep appreciation,
Yours,

Dr. Majid Montazer
Director
